Josef Aziz Ameur grew up in the great city of Worcester, Massachusetts. His childhood mostly consisted of running around outside with friends. At that ripe age of eleven when he saw a film that would change him forever: The School of Rock.

A year later, his parents bought him a Cherry Red Peavey Raptor and Joe fell in love. He spent most of his teenage years listening to Led Zeppelin and playing guitar (& video games). He took lessons and even played (horribly) in Jazz Ensemble but never reached greatness.

At seventeen, he was rejected by NYU for music production so he went to the local community college instead. He discovered a love for literature and creative writing so when he graduated he thought "Why not?" and went to UMass Amherst to study English.

One year and an Intro to Film course later, Joe was feeling the impending doom of graduation and a new found love for cinema. He decided to stay at UMass for an extra year to double major in Communication & English with a focus in filmmaking and screenwriting.

Since graduation, he’s worked at Amherst Media as the Director of Studio Production & Programming and as a freelance filmmaker.

He has FINALLY directed a short film which is currently in post-production. Stay tuned.

He has two parents (Mohammed and Alicia) and one little sister (Amina.)
